Terms of service
What you can expect from us, and what we'll need from you, on every quote and every job.
Quotes and the prices on this site
When we come out to look at a tree, the quote is free, it's broken down line by line, and it stays good for 30 days. Any dollar figures you see on our pages are typical ranges meant to help you plan; the number on your written quote is the one that counts.
Signing, deposits and paying up
Nothing gets cut until you've signed a written quote. If the job calls for a crane or we're clearing a lot, we may ask for a deposit up front; otherwise the full amount is due when the work is finished, unless your quote spells out something different. If we find something mid-job that changes the scope, say decay we couldn't see from the outside that means a crane is now needed, we price the extra work in writing and wait for your go-ahead before carrying on.
Getting the yard ready
You know your property better than we do, so it's on you to point out private lines before we start: irrigation, septic, low-voltage wiring and anything running to a pool. For public utilities, we put in a request with Sunshine 811 before any stump grinding. Our equipment needs a clear path on the day we're booked, and if getting in means taking out a panel of your pool cage, we'll remove it and put it back ourselves.
Permits, protected trees and your HOA
Some removals and any land clearing need a permit from Flagler County or from the City of Palm Coast. Where that's the case, we put the application in under the owner's name and show it as a line on your quote. If a tree is dangerous enough to fall under Florida Statute 163.045, the ISA Certified Arborist on our staff can write the documentation the statute asks for instead of a permit; whether a tree meets that bar is the arborist's professional call, and that call is final. Homeowners' association sign-off is yours to get, though we'll hand over whatever the committee wants to see.
Rain, wind and calling it off
Trees get cut outdoors, so dates can slide. Lightning, strong wind or ground too wet to hold a truck will push a job back. Once we're on site, the crew leader has the final say on safety and can stop at any point; if that happens partway through a removal, the tree is left stable and safe until we return.
After a storm
If you call us out in an emergency, the price is the one we quote over the phone and confirm with you in person before the first cut. We'll document storm damage for your claim if you ask, but whether the claim gets paid is between you and your carrier.
Who you're dealing with
We're Palm Coast Tree Co., a tree service run locally out of Palm Coast, Florida, holding a business tax receipt from the City of Palm Coast. The crews that do the cutting carry general liability coverage and workers' compensation written for tree work, and you can ask for the certificate of insurance before anybody starts. The state of Florida doesn't license tree services.
